The Ogua Fetu Afahye is an annual festival celebrated by the people of Cape Coast in the Central Region of Ghana. The festival, usually held in the first week of September, commemorates the historical migration of the Oguaa people and their settlement in Cape Coast.

The highlight of the festival is the procession of the chiefs and people in colorful regalia, which showcases the rich culture and history of the Oguaa people. Past Event

The Elmina Bakatue Festival, held annually in Elmina in Ghana’s Central Region, celebrates the ceremonial opening of the Benya Lagoon to allow fish to enter the sea, marking the start of the fishing season. This centuries-old tradition, held on the first Tuesday of July, honors the sea gods and includes vibrant drumming, dancing, and parades showcasing the rich Fante culture. The week-long festivities feature libation pouring, traditional boat races, and Asafo warrior dances, reinforcing community bonds and maritime heritage. Attracting tourists worldwide, the festival supports cultural preservation and boosts the local economy, making it a vital event for the community.
